Even with the number of sophisticated smartphones that sell in the market that flaunt a variety of interesting design and promising better user interface experience, one who is budget conscious would also consider the cost of owning one. Fortunately, smartphone makers also have this in consideration. Thus, smart device prototypes normally produce different product range to provide any device that is within any budget. Like, Xiaomi, a privately owned firm that designs, develops, as well as sells smartphones, an Android-based OS, and other consumer electronics. The company launched today its new product offering--the Redmi 3.

What does Xiaomi Redmi 3 have to offer, other than its price to be unbelievably low for a smartphone that is said to provide more than it actually costs? Not only that this version of Xaiomi Redmi doubles the battery capacity of Redmi 2 with its 4,100 mAh battery, that charges up to 50% an hour. Moreover, it is designed with a 5-inch HD display, runs on an octa-core Snapdragon 616 SoC, provides 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage that is backed up with microSD expansion-- all housed in a full metal chassis. This is definitely not just a phone with a big battery.

Redmi 3 is also equipped with dual-SIM (although one slot doubles as the SD card tray). Source also reports that it features a 13-megapixel rear camera as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset is described to measure 139.3x69.6x8.5mm and weighs 143 grams. Redmi 3 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The handsets are now available on Mi.com as well at Tmall, and will be available in three colors: dark gray, silver and gold. Price point starts at $159.00 (or the equivalent current exchange rate).

You may find more comprehensive details of the Redmi 3 at GSM Arena. For a full metal phone with a battery that big, and other features that one normally sees in higher priced smartphones, soon more will take notice of this new Xiaomi offering in the market.
