Reliance Lyf Earth 1 Unboxing Video Out—Specs Revealed Ahead of Launch

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) or simply Reliance, has recently launched its 4G LTE to its employees. Smartphones under its LYF brand will soon be unveiled. The first of the series is Lyf Earth 1 is seen un-boxed ahead of the commercial launch at The Quint, complete with the handset’s specfications and features.

The smartphone boasts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) AMOLED display that has a pixel density of 401ppi. Lyf Earth 1 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor that is paired with Adreno 405 GPU. It also packs 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.

The smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel dual cameras at the back, which are supplemented with a 5-megapixel front camera. It also features a 3,500mAh Li-Po battery and runs on Android Lollipop. It comes in an impressive 7.25mm body, and weighs around 162 grams.

Besides 4G LTE connectivity, the selling points of the smartphones under the LYF brand are their VoLTE and VoWiFi capabilities. One source says a unit of  Lyf Earth 1 will be sold at a price between Rs 4,000 and Rs 25,000, and will be made available the country via multi-brand outlets, as well as through Reliance Retail stores.

Earlier reports reveal that Reliance Jio will be launching four different series of smart handsets under the LYF brand, which will be named after the four elements – ‘Earth’, ‘Water’, ‘Wind’ and ‘Fire’. Earth 1 will be in the super-premium line.

Earlier reports also disclosed that the company will procure 4G-capable handsets manufactured in the country, which they will sell under the LYF brand. The company is said to be in talks with Micromax, Lava, Karbonn, and has already signed a deal with Intex.
