Plants vs. Zombies 2 Drops Jurassic Marsh 2 In Time For Christmas

Dec 21, 2015 01:14 AM EST

Plants vs. Zombies 2 fans, rejoice! The awesome people at EA Games just dropped the much-awaited Jurassic Marsh Part 2 on December 15th. Those who are glued to their Plants vs. Zombies 2 installations have probably enjoyed the Jurassic Marsh Part 1 for about a month now, as the post-Halloween 4.2.1 update was rolled out in the middle of November. The current version is at 4.3.1, and the app’s icon has a zombie with snow on its head. The "Feastivus" Piñata Parties also have aptly-themed graphics, with Christmas lights and snow bordering the playing field. A perfect way to stay in character for the season.

Enough of the décor and the graphics, though. If you haven’t touched your Plants vs. Zombies 2 app in a while, well, you should. Unlike the boring Neon Mixtape Tour world, Jurassic Marsh adds a few exciting elements to the mix:

-There are dinosaurs that could either work for you or against you. When you feed them the Perfume-shroom, which you’ll be able to get after you get past Level 8, the dinosaurs will work FOR you. Make sure that the dino is on the same column that you’ll plant the Perfume-shroom on, so that you can “charm” him to be on your side. Otherwise, dinos that have not been “tainted” with the Perfume-shroom will kick, fly in, or flick the zombies closest to Dave’s House, as much as they can.

-The plants in Jurassic Marsh are ALL amplified. Want a pea-shooter that pushes away zombies, too? You got it! The Primal Peashooter shoots with such force, zombies are pushed further back into the starting line. Want a wall-nut that you can plant faster? The Primal Wall-nut is fast AND cheap. Or how about a Sunflower that spits out more sun for you to work with? The Primal Sunflower produces 75 suns’ worth, just as a full-grown Sun-shroom would. And you don’t even have to feed it Plant Food to speed up the process! A plant food-powered Primal Sunflower gives up to 225 suns’ worth. Just what you need to get further into the game.

-Other must-have plants are from the Premium plant list, and they pack a pretty powerful punch: The Grapeshot explodes into heavy individual grapes, which clears practically half or all of the playing field of zombies. The Cold Snapdragon, on the other hand, breathes ice onto 6 whole tiles, which may be useful to immobilize Gargantuars. For those who have already bought all of the Premium plants on the Plants vs. Zombies 2 store, these two should be added to your collection. For those who haven’t gotten started with buying Premium plants yet, these two could start your collection, though it may be wise to wait for a Sale.

These are exciting times for Plants vs. Zombies 2, especially since they seem to be rolling out major World updates every two months. So watch out for Part 1 of what Wikia’s Plants vs. Zombies 2 site has “prophesied” as the “Modern Day” world. We’ll reportedly see a comeback of the Newspaper Zombie who gets mad when he gets hit and his newspaper gets torn apart. There’s more to look forward to in 2016!
