Upcoming Spiritual Game ‘The Lost Child’ Will Be Turn-Based RPG, Not An Action Title

Opinions of fans of the 2011 game “El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron” are expected to be divided when “The Lost Child” releases on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. The likely topic of debate would be the upcoming game, a spiritual follow-up to “El Shaddai,” will be a turn-based RPG and not an action game. It is still in development stage.

But despite the different gameplay, “The Lost Child” is expected to offer a stylized presentation, tight action gameplay, and quirky design sensibilities that “El Shaddai” is highly acclaimed for. It is because the director of “El Shaddai,” Takeyasu Sawaki, and other members of the development team would be the one to develop “The Lost Child,” Digital Trends reports.

Since there is a link between the two games, “The Lost Child” will be connected to “El Shaddai” in terms of plot. The trailer showed Lucifel, a guardian angel who goes down to earth and lands in present-day Japan where the game is set. In “El Shaddai,” Lucifel was a vital character as the one who assisted the hero, Enoch, to fulfill his task as the planet’s protector. Based on the trailer, Lucifel could be the player character in the upcoming game.

Crim, the new studio of Sawaki, will develop “The Lost Child.” The publisher of the upcoming game, which has no release date yet, is Kadokawa Games, NicheGamer reports. But Destructoid says the new game is almost 90 percent complete and would launch in Japan in summer.

“The Lost Child” revolves around Hayato Ibuki, a magazine writer who is pursuing a story of a person who takes his own life by jumping in front of a train at the Shinjuku Station. While covering the story, Ibuki is almost pushed onto the tracks by a mysterious black shadow but saved by Barcia, a beautiful and mysterious woman. Barcia gives Ibuki a Demon Gun Gangour which has the power to capture and train angels and demons. Rua, a female, will assist Ibuki in searching for Barcia.
