Ashley Johnson, the voice actor of Ellie, a character in the upcoming game “The Last of Us 2,” posted a new image online. With her in the picture is another actor, Troy Baker, the voice behind the character Joel which speculators believed had died. Their photo showed Johnson and Baker taking part in a motion-capture session.

Given the new image, it may debunk “The Last of Us 2” fan theory that Joel is dead. However, GameRant points out the photo does not deny or confirm the theory. While it suggests that Joel could be alive, because Naughty Game, the developer of the game is keeping secret details of the new title, fans would only know what is the truth when the game launches.

Teasing Tweet. Even Johnson’s tweet, which includes the photo, could be providing some hint that Joel may not be alive in “The Last of Us 2” because of what she wrote. The tweet reads, “Back in LA, shooting some video game. I think it has zombies in it.” It could be a hint that Joel is a zombie.

In “The Last of Us 2,” Ellie is the main character, which could mean she is not the zombie. Joining Ellie is the new title is “Westworld” actress Shannon Woodward as a voice actor. She is also seen wearing a motion-capture suit, according to Express. It was Neil Druckman, creative director of Naughty Dog, who posted also posted a photo of Woodward.

Return of Horseback-Fighting Scenes. Druckman also posted a third photo of a person in a motion-capture suit. She is Halley Gross, a co-writer, who is seen riding a mount prop and holding a shotgun for motion capture. The image means horseback-fighting scenes, seen in the original game, would return in “The Last of Us 2,” GamingBolt reports. Who is the character that Woodward would voice is not yet revealed.
