Playstation 4 update 4.50 has just been released and new improvement can be seen on the system including custom wallpapers and more. In addition, the system an upgradeable HDD support.
Plugging the USB 3.0 HDD will provide more space for the console, according to PlayStation's blog post. Other than the HDD support, users can now have custom wallpapers for their console aside from the default one. This will provide a more customizable option and add more value to user experience. Moreover, users can edit the photos or screenshots using Sharefactory's Photo Mode for a more unique custom wallpaper.
A simple notification list
Game alerts, downloads, updates, and more are listed down on Notifications area. Now, this area is simplified for a more comprehensive view on notifications including important information such as progress, file size, and others.
Voice chat experience while playing games
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, users can now use Remote Play on a Windows PC, Mac, Xperia, smartphones, and other devices with the help of a microphone for voice chat while playing a game. For multiplayer games, this option and feature are super helpful. Furthermore, an option to make a party public or private is now available by selecting Party, Party Settings, then Party Privacy.
Parents or guardian privilege
Parents or guardian can now create sub-accounts for their children. This also includes a view of an Inappropriate Content Report before sending. Most of all, the update includes PlayStation 4 Pro boost mode and much more. Image quality during Cinematic mode on PlayStation VR is now enhanced.
