Besides more prominent roles given to Season 1 characters Krista and Ymir who did not enjoy the spotlight then, “Attack on Titan” Season 2 would have new Titans and shape-shifters. It would also go on with the dangerous adventures of Eren, Mikasa, Armin and other elite Survey Corps members. Tetsuro Araki, director of Season 1, promoted to chief director and opening storyboard artist, provides more details about the series which premieres Season 2 on April 1 in an interview with English subtitles uploaded by Aniplus Asia.

3- to 4-Year Hiatus

During that hiatus, the script and other details were being developed and the staff polished their skills resulting in them experiencing growth in the ability to express themselves. He confirms that Krista and Ymir would really shine in Season 2 and be in the eye of the storm, Comicbook reports.

Besides the two, other members of the Survey Corps who did not get so much spotlight in Season 1 would rise to prominence in “Attack on Titan” Season 2. Masashi Koizuka cites Eren Jaeger, who vowed to wipe out the last Titan, would acquire new powers that allow him to battle for freedom of humanity from monsters that threaten their homes. The battle for humanity would continue when more Titans come near Wall Rose, leaving Eren no chance to rest after he beat the Female Titans.
