Blissey Is No. 1 Gym Defender For ‘Pokemon GO’

Two out of three websites that made a ranking of the “Pokemon GO” Gen 2 gym defenders named Blissey as number 1. Blissey got the top defender spot because it has the highest HP or Stamina in the game. It also has a nice defense and attack stat to back it up.

Why Blissey?

Blissey, which can help “Pokemon GO” players stop botters and GPS spoofers from taking down their level 10 gyms with them, was the choice of Otakukart and Forbes. However, for Heavy, Blissey only came in sixth place with a max CP of 3219, while Ho-Oh has 4650. But Heavy’s basis was Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal Games, and it concedes the numbers may not be 100 percent accurate “Pokemon GO.”

Forbes explains its choice of Blissey to the Chansey evolution with a massive well of health could win fights simply by sitting and absorbing damage until the timer runs out. Being incredibly rare, 50 candies are needed to evolve it into a Blissey. However, it notes that according to Silph Road on Reddit, Blissey does not have the highest max potential CP in “Pokemon GO” right now.

Tyranitar Is Number 3 Only In Otakukart’s List

The number 1 gym defender, for now, is Tyranitar, a rock/dark hybrid which evolved from Pupitar and Larvitar. In Otakukart’s list, Tyranitar is just the No. 3 gym defender for “Pokemon GO,” although it acknowledges Tyranitar as one of the greatest Pokemon to be released besides other Pokemon with some great design. Number 2 on its list is Snorlax, while in fourth and fifth spots on its list are Dragonite and Rhydon, respectively.

However, Forbes notes that when ranked by the sum of its stats Blissey regains the top spot, followed by Chansey, Snorlax, and Tyranitar. For Heavy, Tyranitar is No. 2 with max CP of 3670, followed by Lugia, Entei, and Raikou with max CPs of 3598, 3412 and 3349, respectively.
