Piano Tiles 2: A Mad Tapping Game With Decent In-Game Music

Jan 15, 2016 12:15 AM EST

It’s the weekend and you’re staying in and catching some much-needed zzz’s. Or, you decided to go catch a doctor’s appointment, and now you’re cooling your heels at the waiting room. So you decide to whip out your Android and play a game. But what do you play? How about 2015’s runaway hit, Piano Tiles 2, by Clean Master Games.

Clean Master is better known for its phone-boosting utility, but the dev team apparently branched out into games. And when they created Piano Tiles and Piano Tiles 2, they apparently came up with one of 2015’s most annoying notification hog.

If you noticed your Facebook friends sending you invite upon invite to Piano Tiles 2, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. If you’re the type who likes tapping the hours away at a no-brainer that just needs you to be fast at tapping things, in this case, black blocks, then this is the game for you.

Piano Tiles 2, which is at number 1 on Google Plays Top Free Games at the moment, has a maddeningly addictive soundtrack, and an equally compelling gameplay. The black blocks, which stand for the black keys on a real piano, keep coming or falling at you, and all you have to do is to keep tapping them as you run up your score.

Frankly, there’s a better game out there: Omicron by Canupa, but the fact that it’s a paid game may deter most. Omicron by Canupa has an even more compelling soundtrack, and this über-sexy digital voice urging you to “Tap That Color.”

However, to each their own, and if tapping at black keys is your thing for killing time while waiting for your turn at the clinic, then grab a pair of great earphones, plug in to Piano Tiles 2, and before you know it, you’re up for your checkup. Have fun!
